Nigeria is 54 years old today. On this significant day, we mark Nigeria’s emancipation from colonization and its birth into Independence. We remember the labours of our heroes past, who sacrificed all they had to make this nation an Independent State. They believed in the Nigerian dream and hoped for a greater Nigeria.
As we celebrate Nigeria’s 54th anniversary, we look forward to a Nigeria characterized by good governance, equity, justice, unity, economic buoyancy and political fairness. As Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka said “The trouble with Nigeria is simply and squarely a failure of leadership. There is nothing basically wrong with the Nigerian character. There is nothing wrong with the Nigerian land or climate or water or air or anything else. The Nigerian problem is the unwillingness or inability of its leaders to rise to the responsibility; to the challenge of personal example which are the hallmarks of true leadership.”
From the entire VacantBoards team, we wish you all a Happy Independence day!
