Advertisers Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON) in conjunction with North Dakolta State University, USA, and ValueFronteira Limited, a Lagos based consulting firm, have concluded plans to host an international workshop with the theme “Integrated Brand Promotions”. The event is scheduled to take place at Oakwood Hotel, Lekki Expressway, Lagos on the 5th and 6th of November, 2014.
In a statement, the workshop director, Professor Charles Okigbo, disclosed that the workshop was designed to expose participants to the evolving shift from Integrated Marketing Communications to Integrated Brand Promotions, with emphasis on relevant strategies, tactics, research processes, analytical skills and exemplary case studies from different sectors and regions of the world.
Speaking on the benefits of the 2-day workshop, Professor Martin Oluba, Chief Executive Officer of ValueFronteira Limited, stated that “companies need to adopt a strategy that can stand the future and present competition, create a robust approach and focus on integral components that determine purchase decision and affinity in the occurrence of market shift.”
The workshop fee is N175,000 and Participants expected at the event include marketing and brand managers, directors in leading companies, Chief Executive Officers and Head of Corporate Communications in government agencies, ministries and department heads of advertising and public relations firms as well as other business leaders from across Africa. The resource persons are Dr Charles Okigbo, a professor of Advertising Communication, North Dakolta State University, his colleagues Dr Nan Yu, a communications expert and professor and Joseph Jones, a Professor of Marketing.
Contributions will also come from Dr Katherine Frith, Professor and Deputy Director, School of Journalism, Southern Illinois University at Carbondale USA, Mr. Lolu Akinwunmi, Managing Director, Prima Garnet Africa; MR Enyi Odigbo, Managing Director DDB Lagos and Mr. Udeme Ufot, Managing Director SO&U Saatchi. Branding experts from Nigeria such as Mr. Yinka Akande and Dr. Martin Oluba will complement the team from the USA.
